Shortly before Brent’s passing, he assembled a collective of Bahamian artists and visionaries: Antonius Roberts, Tyrone Ferguson, Clint Kemp, John Cox, Diane Turnquest and more. Weekly creative meetings ensued and after a bluster of various brilliant creative ideas (mostly thrown in by Brent himself) the decision to erect a large metal sculpture symbolizing the unity of people coming together. The final design and name for the piece : ONE : were discussed and agreed upon. After Brent passed all involved in the project decided to continue with the agreed design and dedicate it to Brent’s memory and the reality that he had brought these artists, some who had never met before, together and allowed them to feel the power of being ONE together. Final touches are being put on the completed statue at New Providence Community Centre and an unveiling is soon forthcoming.
